Our honeymoon trip brought us to Disneyland at Anaheim in Los Angeles, USA and Vancouver, Canada. For me, its nothing new since I have been to both places numerous times. But the special thing is that I have my darling with me. That makes a whole lot of difference. I love the weather. The sun was out and the temperature was in the teens. Also, I am medium size there.

At one stage in my life, I found that a place without the family and friends is very empty. Having people (I like) around was very important. My view has evolved. People come and people go. A place is just a place. We have to make our inner world to be fulfilling.

Back to the trip, we arrived in Los Angeles airport amidst the Homeland security level 1. That is taking off your shoes and belt, making sure that you only had 1 litre of liquids and gels in a transparent plastic bag and removing your laptop computer while going through the security. I think the best way to travel is just travel in a body size condom. We have made a point to travel light, so security wasn’t too much of a hassle but still..

We rested up for the day and the trip started officially at Universal Studios on the second day.

See…I told you that I am medium size.

We had breakfast at IHOP (International House of Pancakes). I remembered that IHOP was more specialized once…better food and cozy service. Now, its just another franchised outlet. My darling was absolutely shocked at the American size portion of food. She went through the heavy duty sounding breakfast menu, which almost always come with bacon, hashbrown, toast/pancaked on the side, and decided on an omelette. However, she is still shocked at the size of the OMELETTE.

No, there is no camera trick. The plate is as wide as she is.

In Anaheim, we also went to Bubba Gum Shrimp Co. and The Cheesecake Factory for dinner.

The Cheesecake Factory provided amazingly good food. Service was good and ambience was great (though a bit noisy).

Typically, people who had not went to Disneyland or any American themeparks will not know that queueing is really what take up most of the time while in the theme park. You are lucky to get through 8 rides with less than 5 hours of queueing. Add the screaming children all around, patience is a must.

Oh yar…there are also a height requirement..Lucky my darling is over the minimum requirement.

The sad thing is that we missed the fireworks at Disney. Due to high winds in the upper altitudes, the show has been cancelled on both nights that we were there. But we still had lots of fun there. Disney did a great job with their food menu. They are offering much much more than the Hamburger, Fried Chicken and Hotdog only years ago. But the queues for the food is as bad as the popular rides.

I didnt quite like the changes that ride Pirates of Caribbean. They have adapted it to reflect the movies. I used to love the story telling of the original. California Adverture Park was very well designed. You can just go through the place in a single round. But some of the rides are so so only. The Aviation ride…well, its boring for a hour and a half wait.

We watched some TV at night…CSI: Miami is everywhere. They have marathon showing at different channels every night. I must have seen all of them by now.

Next stop…Vancouver..

Vancouver is Vancouver. I fell in love with that place all over again.

My darling didnt really like the cold but she is otherwise ok. Here’s a couple of shots with the Ford Edge SUV that we rented.

Whistler.. View… Nuff said.

The schedule for Vancouver is basically planned by my big sister…she even had a cheese platter for us at the Sundial resort at Whistler for us.

So the trip is good.
