What is your goal in life? I noticed that most people do not have a goal in life. If they do, they have no direction in getting that goal done. Personally, I have no goals in life. I meander through life and taking what comes. I need a direction.
But while I go searching for myself, I have started planning for some aspects of my future. I am moving house again.

People the weak link in cybersecurity – report July 27, 2009

Why I hate Internet Banking.
——–
WASHINGTON - The popularity of Facebook and other popular social networking sites has given hackers new ways to steal both money and information, the security company Sophos said in a report released on Wednesday.
About half of all companies block some or all access to social networks because of concerns about cyber incursions via the sites, according to the study.
“Research findings also revealed that 63 percent of system administrators worry that employees share too much personal information via their social networking sites, putting their corporate infrastructure — and the sensitive data stored on it — at risk,” the Sophos report said.
This is despite years of exhortations to computer users that they should keep personal information private and refrain from opening attachments to emails from unfamiliar sources.
One result is that a quarter of businesses have been hit by spam, phishing or malware attacks via Twitter or social networking sites, Sophos said.
Phishing is emails or chitchat that scam artists engage in to convince would-be victims to reveal personal information like passwords or bank numbers while malware is malicious software, often designed to infiltrate a computer system for illicit purposes.
Sophos also found that the number of Web pages with malware quadrupled since early 2008, with the United States hosting 39.6 percent of it, more than any other country. China was second with 14.7 percent.
Sophos also said that 15 new fraudulent anti-virus vendors were discovered every day, triple the number found daily in 2008.
Sophos, which has dual headquarters in the United Kingdom and the United States, is the biggest privately held security software maker.
Daniel Suelo – Modern caveman July 23, 2009

DANIEL SUELO LIVES IN A CAVE. UNLIKE THE average American—wallowing in credit-card debt, clinging to a mortgage, terrified of the next downsizing at the office—he isn’t worried about the economic crisis. That’s because he figured out that the best way to stay solvent is to never be solvent in the first place. Nine years ago, in the autumn of 2000, Suelo decided to stop using money. He just quit it, like a bad drug habit. His dwelling, hidden high in a canyon lined with waterfalls, is an hour by foot from the desert town of Moab, Utah, where people who know him are of two minds: He’s either a latter-day prophet or an irredeemable hobo. Suelo’s blog, which he maintains free at the Moab Public Library, suggests that he’s both. “When I lived with money, I was always lacking,” he writes. “Money represents lack. Money represents things in the past (debt) and things in the future (credit), but money never represents what is present.” <a href="DANIEL SUELO LIVES IN A CAVE. Get a notebook to write things in.
Topics for notebook:
- Dates for each occasions (dates each from both mothers)

More about Ms A380 July 22, 2009

Yesterday, I received a chain of sms-es from Ms A380.
A bit of background here. If you know me, I am very lazy when it comes to phone calls and sms-es. I like to keep my phone calls and sms-es to the minimum. But since I was waiting for my car while it is being serviced, I decided to go on with it a bit longer than my better judgement. Secondly, I called her MsA380 because she always aeroplaned us on appointments. Unless of coz, when her boyfriend or family have no time for her.
Usually, where friends are concerned, I do not mind being de-prioritized. I just hate being stood up when I made the effort to clear a time slot for someone. I could have just rot at home or go play with the baby.
In any case, she told me last week that ‘we will meet next week’. Yesterday, she said that we will meet on Monday. Since yesterday was Tuesday, it makes meeting being next week from this week. So meeting will take place 2 weeks from the point that it was first suggested. I really dun know. If dun have time, then dun meet. Why bother to make an appointment to jumbo air?
Oh well. Not a big issue. Since I know she is probably reading this as well. She would probably fumed.
So the case study here is that she is getting married and there are much to discuss within the family. To cut the long story short, she felt stress coz she does not have the time to do things and her mother is pressuring her to get the details.
She claimed that she has no time to do things. She needs to meet her family for dinner to discuss plans yesterday night. Tonight, she needs to accompany her mother.
Personally, I do not believe in that. Just too many loopholes in the stories. For example, she said her husband to be is too busy to arrange the wedding (but have time to eat dinner and discuss the engagement). Secondly, she is having dinner with her parents and hubby outside (but she has to eat what her mother cooked for her). I mean I will believe her story if she works in an office like mine where food places is like 10min drive away. She is probably happily eating a caramelized dessert after dinner last night.
So she said she wanted to meet next Monday. She did not have much to eat, so she wanted chocolate cake.
I will listen to all those first. There is really nothing to believe or not believe. Everyone has their needs to create an illusion about their life. I am faintly amused.
So if you are reading this… I know that you do not always tell the whole truth. But it is ok. I will still offer free advise whether you choose to listen or not.
Baby X went swimming July 21, 2009
Posted by sithbear in Uncategorized.add a comment
We brought Baby X to his first swimming class. Well, it wasn’t really swimming. It was a tub of water where he can thread on. The idea is to get them used to being suspended in water again.
Personally, I do not like the design concept of the place. You have your butt naked baby being put into these tubs, which are places right next to the display window.

I have no idea what kind of training program that the staff has. But it must be quite extensive. Coz they know enough to take a young baby away from people whom the baby trust more (meaning the parents) and put the baby into this new environment. Its a formula that guarantees crying. Then they can look at me and say ‘Oh, he is probably scared.’ Ya, rocket scientist….

Then they tied this uncomfortable looking float around this neck. He looked around and being surrounded by strangers. How would you like to have strangers tying a contraption around your neck and dipping you in a tub of water? Sound like Silence of the Yong Meh Meh yet?

After that, he was given another type of float. Now this is called a SPA. Took us a while more to get him to calm down and stopped crying.
Of course, there are people in the world who are leaders and there are people who are followers. During this SPA (thats what the tagline of the place read) trip for Baby X, I was totally pissed off by a father of a baby about the same age as Baby X. The guy’s baby started crying after being put into the water. It was the third time that they came. And the guy pointed that it was because Baby X was crying. I know babies do cry when another baby started crying near them. But the moment the baby got out of water, he stopped crying. Put 2 and 2 together, wun you?
I rather go buy a tub myself and dip the baby in. Unless Baby X starts to enjoy this on the next visit, I think I will not bring him there anymore. I did not learn how to swim until I was 7 or 8 year old. And I learnt from reading a book.
What the fish?! July 15, 2009
Posted by sithbear in Uncategorized.add a comment

GENEVA (AFP) – Police divers have ended the reign of terror of a huge fish that was attacking swimmers in a Swiss lake.
The zander, which was 70 centimetres (two feet three inches) long and weighed eight kilos (17.5 pounds), was harpooned on Sunday after it bit six swimmers over the weekend, fish warden Fabio Croci told local media.
Two swimmers were treated in hospital for bite wounds up to 10 centimetres (four inches) long after being attacked on Lac Majeur, which borders Italy, he added.
Police divers at first tried to capture the carnivorous fish with a net, but when this failed they pursued the zander with a harpoon and managed to kill it.
The meat from the captured fish was served up to tourists at the lake.
“It is quite unusual for zanders to bite humans”, Croci said, adding he suspected the fish was suffering from a hormonal imbalance which could be responsible for its aggression.

The amazing thing about this story is how they know the fish was suffering from hormonal inbalance? And the other even more amazing thing is people are eating a hormonally inbalance fish….

Fat vs the Dress July 13, 2009
Posted by sithbear in Uncategorized.add a comment
A good old-time friend of mine gathered at one of my recent birthday gatherings was cracking up a number of jokes and in one of them, he said that I was obease. So I told him, ‘No, you are so wrong. I am not obese. I am f***ing obese.’ He was stunned for a while and we all burst out laughing. I am fat. I admit it. I need to do something about it. Until then, fats make me fat.
So I came across this article below and I think to myself. Certain clothes are design only when you are not fat. So people who are fat need to get off their behind. Otherwise, they should just quit complaining how unfair the world is to them.

Some NWA flight attendants want to wear red dress
Northwest flight attendants want Delta to offer bigger sizes of signature red dress uniform
- By Harry R. Weber, AP Airlines Writer
- On Friday July 10, 2009, 7:05 pm EDT
ATLANTA (AP) — The union that represents flight attendants who worked for Northwest Airlines before it was bought by Delta Air Lines is crying foul over Delta’s failure to offer bigger sizes for its signature red dress uniform designed by Richard Tyler.
When he was hired to create his uniform collection, Tyler said he wanted them to “look sexy and great.”
The Northwest chapter of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA has filed a grievance with the world’s largest airline operator, asking it to offer the red dress up to size 28. The union hopes the grievance will go to mediation in August.
The red dress currently is only offered up to size 18, though a Delta spokeswoman said the airline offers a range of outfits in other colors and styles up to size 28 that flight attendants can wear.
Patricia Reller, who handles grievances for the union’s executive committee, said Friday that even if there was only one flight attendant who wore a size over 18, that person should be able to wear the stylish red dress.
“I think red is an eye-popping color and it’s not subtle, and to me by not offering it in a size over 18, Delta is saying, ‘We don’t want you wearing that if you are over size 18,’” Reller said. “But the job isn’t about being sexy. It’s about safety.”
Reller said she did not know how many pre-merger Northwest flight attendants want to wear the red dress but need a size bigger than 18.
“If the dress wasn’t a tiny size 18, there would be less,” Reller said. “It’s a very small size 18, so that makes the numbers a lot larger.”
Delta spokeswoman Gina Laughlin could not immediately say why the red dress is not available in bigger sizes while other uniform options are. But she said there have been few complaints.
“The majority of pre-merger Northwest flight attendants have given us very positive feedback about the Richard Tyler Collection,” Laughlin said.
Delta hired Tyler in 2004 to do a makeover of its gray employee uniforms. Tyler, whose dresses have been worn by stars such as Julia Roberts, Heather Locklear and Jamie Lee Curtis, promised a classier — and in some cases, sexier — look for flight attendants, airport agents and other workers.
“I want them to look sexy and great, but you have to keep that classic look as well,” Tyler told The Associated Press at the time.
The uniforms — including white blouses and navy dresses besides the red dress — debuted in 2006. Atlanta-based Delta acquired Northwest in October 2008. Pre-merger Northwest employees began wearing the Delta uniforms on March 30.
Delta said at the time it announced its plans for the new uniforms that the decision was a “wise investment” that would boost morale among employees and increase the airline’s bottom line in the long run.
According to Delta, flight attendants must be able to perform the safety and security functions of their job, including being able to reach and close overhead bins, reach and close any of the aircraft doors and be able to sit on the aircraft jumpseat and fasten the flight attendants seatbelt.
Reller said a flight attendant who wears above a size 18 can do all of those functions well.
“The sizing of our red dress has not been an issue with Delta flight attendants since the program’s inception three years ago. This is AFA hype leading up to the election,” Laughlin said.
There are roughly 21,000 flight attendants at the combined airline, 14,000 from pre-merger Delta and 7,000 from pre-merger Northwest.
The Northwest workers are represented by a union, while the Delta workers are not. At some point there will be a representation election at which the combined workforce will decide whether it wants to be represented by a union or not. The two groups also must decide on how to integrate their seniority lists.
