Practically Artistic January 31, 2007

I passed by this wall of NAFA everyday.  Its a wall of expression.  Its a wall where young imagination can put their ‘art’ on it.  Some call it graffiti.  I looked at it everyday…noticing the little changes as days go by.  Today, I see a sticker stating Graffiti is NOT art.  A little hand written note at the bottom said ‘This F***ing sticker is??’.  To me, the design of the graffiti is not that fantastic.  It feels stiff.  Restricted.  It is not that the topic is about boxing in.   There is no sense of freedom of expression.

What is Art?  Art is an expression of one self and the representation of it to others.  I do not agree when an artist says that they do not care about what others think.  Perhaps it will be a more accurate point to say that they do not need everyone to agree with their expressions.  The expression should evoke emotions or a sense of realization or even understanding.  Art is personal, just like each person’s opinion.  But whatever it is, its still about communication.  And it doesnt mean anyone need to agree with it.  If you are willing to give your opinion, you are consenting to be shot down.

And some time, we see people bringing Art to designing and constructing of a building or landscape.  We really should make people who build those building to house themselves in them.  Some people just build and think that they have done a great thing.  How often do we sit outside the building that housed us and go ‘wow, this is a good building.’.  Its more important to have a practical approach when comes to some points of a building..other than looking nice.  My view of practical points:

1)  The restrooms are well appointed.

2)  The lifts are sufficient to serve the number of offices.

3)  Car park lots…1 car park lot per 1,800sq ft is just not enough.  Most MNCs dun even have 1,800sq ft of space for the individual offices for their directors and above.

4)  Mobile phone network.

5)  Internet access.  These days, building development should have cabled up the new buildings instead of installing additional ones later.

I am sure puppy has a lot more points to add.  But I am coming from a tenant point of view.

One thing I do not understand is having handicap access in private apartments.  I can totally understand having a handicap car park lot in a shopping mall.  But in a private estate?  Come on… What if there is more than one resident being mobility challenged?  Does lack of sex life consider as handicap?  If I sucks in golf, can I park in that lot?

Hmm…I must say Routh does resemble a lot like Reeve.  In fact, they sound alike.  Good casting for the show imo.

I just wonder about a few things.

At the hospital, they stripped him out of his suit.  Wonder how steely is his *ahem*.  And Lois Lane apparently had him before.  Hmm…No wonder…Superman is clever, came back after 5 years.  Probably time for the recovery for rubbing a steel rod.

The way to recovery is a good sun tan.  Even Superman does it.

For an advance civilization who learn all knowledge of 28 known galaxy…boy, do they have bad home security…You would think that after the 1st time, Superman will learn to take precaution to prevent that from happening.
